NAU WOOD FIRE CONFERENCE

The Northern Arizona University Wood Fire Conference took place October 11-14, 2006.  Pre-conference firings and activities began on October 3rd.  There were plenty of people and pots on hand to fill kilns.  There was an estimated 40 cords of wood consumed by the Tozan noborigama, the Tozan anagama, the small anagama, the double catenary arch, the small train, and the double train.  The small train and the double catenary arch kilns were fired twice each.  Steve Davis brought his Kazegama kiln and fired it twice for conference attendees.  As if that wasn’t enough the gas fired salt kiln was also filled and put to work.
